What does the name Aziza mean? Origin?
The name Aziza is African (Swahili and Arabic). It means precious, beloved, cherish and dear.

When and why did you start this brand? Where are you based?
Aziza Handcrafted was started in November 2016. I am based out of Brooklyn NY. My art is expressed through various precious metals and waxes. I grew up deep within the art culture and created everything, from paintings to clay sculptures to cloth jewelry; but for each artist, we all have a favorite medium to work with. My favorite happens to be beautiful metals. I love creating unique jewelry pieces and I want others to not only have jewelry but fashionable art pieces created from my hand and heart.

I source metals from various metalsmith within NY.

What inspires you the most?
I am inspired by Queens and Pharaohs and the striking bold statement pieces that they would wear. I am deeply inspired by Sexuality, androgyny and creating unisex jewelry pieces that men and women can both wear.
