Everybody and Everyone Is Bringing Sustainable Innovation To Everyday Basics
We were so excited to chat with Veronica Chou, the founder of Everybody & Everyone, a new-to-market retail brand created to challenge the way that clothes are produced, and to soften the impact of the manufacturing process on the planet. They produce everyday essentials that are made with environmentally friendly materials and processes for all women, ranging to US 00-24 with a range of prices to ensure we’re both attainable and affordable for every woman.
Check out this interview:
When and why did you start Everybody and Everyone?
I grew up going to my father’s factories, asking why it was so dusty and so smelly not thinking anything was wrong with that. Then 6 years ago I started learning about sustainability, and once you learn about how polluting the fashion industry is, or that our mother earth is in a climate crisis, you cannot unlearn it. I could not just sit back and relax. Over the past few years, I got exposed to the fascinating world of material science, where I soon realized if we make things with care & consideration to people & planet, we can continue to create beautiful & useful things without depleting or harming our home. Clothes made from waste are already a reality, circular products are becoming real, and carbon neutral clothing shouldn’t be too far away. Our goal at Everybody & Everyone is to maximise the life & use of clothes and to minimise our impact on our planet, so that it makes life easier for everybody & everyone, in sizes US00-24
How do you define sustainability?
At its core, sustainability means to live and to create without depleting the resources of our planet, polluting our planet, and eliminating our carbon footprint.
Please share your brands sustainable innovation (including where materials are sourced, what are your eco friendly materials, fair trade, and how your brand is transparent, ect)

Firstly, we strategically choose where our raw materials, fabrics and factories are located and try to make sure they are in as close of proximity as possible, in order to reduce transportation and therefore our carbon footprint. Our silk for example, might possibly be the lowest impact and cleanest silk available. It is from an organic mulberry tree farm that uses regenerative agricultural practices to encourage biodiversity and ecosystem harmony and the fabric mill (Profits Fund) and shirt factory are all in the same area. And we are trying to do as much USA production as possible to reduce our carbon footprint since the majority of our orders are from the US.
Secondly, we use eco-innovative materials and include practical design so that you can wear the clothes in more occasions and in more ways, for example:
- Dream 2X1 Turtleneck à Removable neck piece to transform sustainable cashmere sweaters from turtleneck to crew neck

- Straight Up Cozy Jogger & Hug Hoodieà Spill-Proof, Odor Proof 100% TENCEL ™ Lyocell Terry; a fabric made from wood pulp derived fiber. This fabric has been "activated" for water based stain repellency (PFOA Free and Polygeine) can wear longer between washes, less odor and water based stains roll right off. Polygiene® Stays Fresh Technology is an odor-control fabric treatment that inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria, allowing you to wear more and wash less. Created from recycled silver. Polygiene is bluesign® approved.
- All Things Puffer à Zip off Puffer Coat made from 330 recycled plastic bottles in partnership with EcoAlf, that transforms to a short jacket
- Little And A Lot Pant & Superwoman Legging Pant à Wrinkle-less Pants made from TENCEL™ an eco performance bio fiber created from sugar extracted from agricultural waste and processed into a revolutionary high performance polymer. The Little And A lot Pant is adjustable at the waist and at the length; its good for heels and flats!
Thirdly, we are eco down to our buttons (made of Corozo), we put in extra effort to choose trims which are sustainable, including our shoulder pads in our blazer! I’ve not heard of sustainable shoulder pads elsewhere! Some trims are organic and biodegradable, and our labels, hangtags, packaging are all recycled and recyclable. We are always continuing to look for the best sustainable option!
Fourthly, we use data and 3D technology to better control inventory and reduce sampling.
Fifth, besides actively reducing our carbon footprint in our supply chain, we have offset our launch activities with the help of 3degrees. We also partnered with our freight forwarding company to plant trees for every shipment they make of Everybody & Everyone product. And we offer customers an easy way to support tree planting by donating to onetreeplanted at checkout.

Where do you see the future of the fashion industry?
All brands making things in a low (or no) impact way with full transparency & traceability. I see the industry moving away from virgin petroleum-based materials into low impact bio-based materials. And improving recycling so a lot more circular products can be successfully implemented without clothes going to landfill
